Good news? This week’s been both inshore and offshore. Let’s break it down.

Offshore Fishing Report Murrells Inlet South Carolina

If you’re heading offshore from Murrells Inlet and wanting to know the local fishing report, pack the ice and prep the arms, you’ll need both.

Out around 30–50 miles offshore, we’re seeing solid bites from:

  • King Mackerel – fast, aggressive, and great on the grill.

  • Spanish Mackerel – showing up in good numbers trolling spoons.

  • Black Sea Bass & Grouper - hanging on the bottom reefs, especially early in  the day.

If you’re after bigger fish, this is your window. Seas have been calm and the fish  are chewing.

Tip from the deck: Troll early, bottom bounce mid-morning. Match your bait or get out-fished by your buddy.

Inshore Fishing Report: Murrells Inlet Saltwater Bite

Regardless of where you are fishing the SC fishing report saltwater is great. Back inshore, the creeks and jetties around Murrells Inlet are full of life.

Right now, the top inshore saltwater species are:

  • Flounder

  • Spotted Seatrout

  • Red Drum (Redfish)

Most action is happening on live shrimp, mud minnows, and soft plastics on jig heads. The bite’s best early and late skip the hottest part of the day and let the  tide work for you.

Local’s note: You won’t catch fish from the dock scrolling on your phone. Just sayin’.

What Bait Works Right Now?

Stick with:

  • Live bait: Shrimp, Menhaden, Minnows

  • Offshore: Trolling spoons, cigar minnows

  • Inshore: Jig heads + soft plastic, live shrimp
