Beginner Fishing Charters Myrtle Beach - Why Our Charters

We’ve built these trips around the things that matter most when you’re new to fishing:

  • Calm, nearshore waters

  • Easy-to-use gear (we rig everything for you)

  • Patient guidance from your captain (no dumb questions here)

  • Flexible 4–6 hour trips so you’re not stuck offshore all day

What You’ll Catch (Even as a Rookie)

On our nearshore and inshore beginner trips, we commonly hook into:

  • Black Seabass

  • Flounder

  • Spanish Mackerel

  • Sharks (yep, even newbies get lucky)

No experience? No problem, you’ll get the hang of it within 15 minutes.

What We Provide

  • Rods, reels, bait, and tackle

  • Fishing license

  • Cooler for your drinks & snacks

  • Tips on technique (if you want ‘em)

All you need to bring? A smile, a hat, and maybe a sandwich.

Meet Captain Matt – Your Laid-Back Fishing Guide

Beginner family reeling in fish on a Myrtle Beach nearshore fishing charter with Captain Matt

Captain Matt has 10+ years guiding first-timers and families in Murrells Inlet and Myrtle Beach. He’s not just about landing fish, he’s about making sure everyone on board has a relaxed, fun time (and leaves with a good story).

Is deep sea fishing good for beginners? Yes! Our beginner charters are designed for first-timers and families. With shorter trips, easier fishing styles, and patient coaching, you’ll have a blast even if it’s your first time holding a rod.

What should I bring on a fishing charter as a beginner? Bring a hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, drinks/snacks in a small cooler, and a good attitude. We’ll handle all the gear and the fishy stuff.

What happens if I get seasick? Most beginner trips stay close to shore where the water is calmer. Still worried? Take Dramamine the night before and again the morning of. We keep it easy.
